The partnership was put together based on previous experience in glottodidactic research that centers on the same objectives of methodological renewal. Culturiana, the journal review for teachers, enabled partners to meet each other and gain acquaintance with the Coordinating Institute. On the basis of this collaboration of many years and after an in depth consultation following our participation at the InfoDays of Brussels (January 2006) on the new actions of LLP, it was decided to respond to the announcement with a specific project of a transversal nature, bringing together some of the work ideas and the documentary research developed during these years and published in part both in our journal and in editorial series connected to “The Culturiana Library”. Through this partnership the project wishes to accumulate the experience and the heterogeneous competencies from both in the public and private sectors able to cover an ample range of potentialbeneficiaries, in this way assuring a real transversality of its objectives. All the members of the partnership have a long and consolidated experience in the organisation and/ or in the management of Italian language courses to foreigners, assuring the project with specific competencies, from the sphere of documentary research (the CREI of Paris) to that of university teaching (University of Tor Vergata (Rome) and University of Bucharest); and all have collaborated on various levels in the past with educational programs of the European Union. The working language will be Italian, however, to assure an optimal circulation of the project results on a European level, the Guide to the Method will also be translated into English.
